My name is Courtney, a Howard University student, and I am the author of this blog.

I've been living in DC for the past three years and as any young, new transplant can attest, our nation's capital has given me the most amazing inspiration when it comes to being a young 20-something "go-getter". I've tried my hand with a few businesses over the years, some of which have failed, some of which succeeded, and all of which gave me the knowledge I share with you all on this blog.

Entrepreneurship can be really tricky, and with all the media hype recently surrounding "Gen-Y" and our desire to be our own bosses, it seems like every magazine or blog is trying to cover the "young entrepreneur" topic.

Out of the Mouf! is a personal development blog geared towards young adults interested in lifestyle entrepreneurship.

Lifestyle entrepreneurship is all about building a business to make a living and to satisfy your own personal motivations. What was once about amassing Trump-like riches is now about designing a vehicle that produces enough income to allow one the freedom to live out their life long passions. This is a goal that I, and the majority of my generation, infamously subscribe to and this blog will explore various ways to get there.

While I don't profess to know everything about being an entrepreneur as my own path to self-employment is definitely a work in progress, it is my utmost desire to bring as many young adults to an entrepreneurial lifestyle as I can, even if they don't fit the "internet genius" stereotype permeating so much of the media coverage about young people in business.
